Quality Policy

The Japan Accreditation Board (JAB) for Conformity Assessment shall have its quality policies as follows.

JAB will undertake proactively its activities as the core body of the third-party conformity assessment scheme by reflecting adequately the needs of the society in general, by which JAB will endeavor to maintain and enhance the confidence in the third-party conformity assessment scheme.

For ensuring the implementation of the above, JAB will

  1. comply with the laws and regulations, and undertake its activities in accordance with internationally accepted normative documents, guidance and procedures,
  2. perform its accreditation activities impartially without discrimination,
  3. provide services in satisfaction of customers both direct and indirect under high ethical standards and code of conduct,
  4. contribute to the establishment of mutual recognitions with overseas accreditation bodies and maintain and apply them actively,
  5. have active communications with any and all parties interested in the conformity assessment schemes it provides and contribute to the sound stabilization and development of these schemes,
  6. in order to achieve these policies, secure a suitable work environment and provide necessary management resources.

The Secretary-General will establish annual management policies and objectives for every fiscal year and communicate them fully to all the personnel of the Secretariat.
