THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ISO AND JAB ISO is an organization for developing international standards. On the other hand, accreditation bodies in the world including JAB are in a position to grant accreditation to bodies operating certification/ registration of organizations against management system standards including ISO 9000s or ISO 14001, and certification of products, personnel and testing/ inspection against relevant guidance standards, etc. We receive often questions asking if accreditation bodies are approved or accredited by the ISO headquarters, but please understand that we have no direct connection with ISO. If we consider ISO as a developer organization of standards, accreditation bodies in countries in the world, including JAB, are the users of the standards. But, of course, as one of the users of standards, we participate in meetings of ISO for various developments/ revisions of standards relevant to accreditation bodies.
